Hi all, we are facing a severe problem on Android > 6.0 with Push service. Our app was built with minSdkVersion = 9, and this caused com.symbol.rhoconnect.pushservice permission to be deactivated and couldn't be activated. So we set minSdkVersion = 23 (Android 6.0). We build our app using RMS 5.5 and we built ANS.apk using the code from github.com/rhomobile/rhoconnect-push-service/tree/master/android (we had to change some part of the code of ANS, because org.apache.http was removed from API 23, so we added org.apache.http.legacy manually). But push didn't work at all. In the log of our app there isn't any attempt to connect to push server, no registration error, nothing. Any suggestion? Thank you. Erika

We are very disappointed to know that the rhoconnect-push-service app is not compatible with Android version 6.0 or greater and you will not take any action on this. Unfortunately for us it is unacceptable to base our app on a framework that does not guarantee the compatibility of its features with new versions of Android. We will be forced to migrate to another framework, more up to date with Android, or even switch to a native development.

Erika, Both working ANS Client Services for Android(6/7/8) and Windows CE are available only under Enterprise support subscription. As a free alternative you can use FCM for Android introduced in RhoMobile 6.x and in the recent versions of 5.5(actually it's a replacement of GCM). Please see RN here - rhomobile.tau-technologies.com/6.0/6.0.0/6.0%20Release%20Notes.pdfRegards, Konstantin
