I am getting an error in every app i try to build.

charlyr seems, that it is a ruby error. Basically, it is quite a common error, but not on our platform.
Please, attach your application: we need to understand, what happens.
Also, does this issue repeating on Rhodes version 5.5?

I have tested with two projects, the default project template, and an existant application on the same computer.

OS Win 10 x64 Enterprise Ed

JDK jdk1.8.0_191

Android NDK R15C

SDK API 23

I have also installed:

Qt5.9.5 with msvc2015 support.

VS 2015 Community Edition.

The results are:

RMS 5.5 - Android production BUILD SUCESSFUL, RhoSimulator is working.
RMS 6.1 - Android or any other platform, BUILD ERROR in RhoRuby.exe [BUG] Segmentation fault, RhoSimulator opens and inmediatly closed.
RMS 7.0b5 - Android or any other platform, BUILD ERROR in RhoRuby.exe [BUG] Segmentation fault, RhoSimulator opens and inmediatly closed.

I found that when building the error is:

res\build-tools\RhoRuby.exe: [BUG] Segmentation fault
ruby 2.3.4p296 (2017-03-28 revision 57357) [i386-mswin32_140]

but when i run ruby -v at the command prompt i get the following:

C:\RMS6.1\ruby\bin>ruby -v
ruby 2.3.3p222 (2016-11-21 revision 56859) [i386-mingw32]

In RMS 6.1, i have also try to recompile the project solution RubyWin.2015.sln in the Win32 folder with VS 2015-Community Edition and i get unresolved externals.

We tested it and are mostly using on Windows 10 platform but never see this error.

The problem is related with Windows 10 1809 upgrade (KB4469342).

Looking for issues in ruby i found the following

Description
File I/O has almost completely broken after the recent Windows 1809 update when compiling Ruby against MSVCRT.

Please take a look at bugs.ruby-lang.org/issues/15223

I have just try with Windows 10 v1709, with the same configuration. The RhoRuby.exe sucessfully run on this version. So, the problem is confirmed with Windows 10 upgrade 1809.

Based on the article, this issue gets solved with ruby revision 64913, applied to v2.3 and 2.5

Could you please verify the issue?

2. Missing external when compiling RubyWin.2015.sln

After manually adding the missing external references, the solution compiles sucessfully.

The missing externals corresponds to the following files:
\platform\shared\ruby\ext\io\nonblock\nonblock.c
\platform\shared\ruby\ext\io\wait\wait.c
\platform\shared\ruby\ext\date\date_core.c
