Dear Rho Community, I'm happy to inform our community members that on 12th August 2022, National Informatics Centre, a Government of India organization of which I'm a part, launched 5 NFC-based mobile apps for Library Management and automation which replaces the now obsolete RFID Desktop solution of 14 years during the Celebration of National Librarians Day, 2022 on the occasion of the 130th Birth Anniversary of Padmashri Dr. S R Ranganathan, Father of Library Science in India under the aegis of North Eastern Council, Ministry of DoNER, Government of India. It may not be out of place to mention that today, India is celebrating 75 years of its Independence as a country. Hence the logo Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav has been included in our apps to commemorate the year long celebration which ends today. I'm pleased to inform you that out of the 5 apps, 3 were developed using Android Studio and 2 were developed using TAU's Rhomobile. However, this is not a commercial, but rather, a government project. Government of India always encourages to go for open source. I am attaching some pictures and documents of the apps in links below. I hereby express my gratitude for your support and for the wonderful platform and tooling 🛠 provided by TAU, without which this would not have been possible. Looking forward to more improvements and collaboration in future.
