Currently using the latest version 5.5.19 and when taking pictures on Android they are saving to the device gallery. I am using the option to prevent this (although by default it should be false anyway?). It looks like this was a known issue in the 5.5 release notes, i presume this is still the case?
Is there any workaround for this?

Hi, Camera API supports various parameters for taking a picture. Among other things, it supports fileName parameter. Can you share your code?

params = {:flashMode=>'auto',:saveToDeviceGallery=>false}
Rho::Camera.takePicture(params, url_for(:action => :camera_callback))

And what data is passed to camera callback (imageUrl)? And what path to the photo is desirable?

I am picking this code up from a previous dev, but currently the callback copies the image (stored in rhodata/db/db-files folder by camera) to Rho::RhoApplication.get_base_app_path(), the image is then deleted from the original location. I'm not sure why it is moved, but this shouldn't effect another copy being in the gallery should it?

I don't think so

I am also getting mixed results with this. On a KitKat tablet I am getting the photo saved in the Pictures folder in the gallery. On a Marshmallow phone I am getting the photos saved to the Pictures and Camera folders in the gallery. On a Nougat tablet it is behaving correctly and not saving to the gallery at all.

This may be a bug. I filed a ticket to the Pivotal but priority would not be too high due to many other tasks team is busy with. It may be resolved quickly in terms of paid support contract.

Thanks for letting me know. Is there any way I can see if/when this gets looked at?

You may actually file a support ticket at tautechnologies.zendesk.com. You'll get update notifications then.
